Import Your Outlook.com Messages and Contacts Into Gmail

Before you start the import process, prepare your Outlook.com account by copying any messages you want to keep from your Deleted Items and Junk Email folders into your Inbox (you may not have any messages you want to keep that are in these folders—after all, these are folders where you usually just have emails you want to get rid of and do not need—but just in case).  To migrate your Outlook.com messages, folders, and address book contacts to Gmail, follow these steps: The import process will run without further assistance from you. You can resume working in your Gmail account, or you can log out of your Gmail account; the import process will continue behind the scenes regardless of whether you have your Gmail account open.

Import contacts.Import mail.Import new mail for next 30 days—messages you receive at your Outlook.com address will be sent to your Gmail inbox automatically for a month.

The import process can take a while, even a couple of days, depending on how many emails and contacts you are importing.
