Samsung revealed the new Odyssey gaming monitors on Monday. Consumers will be able to purchase the 28-inch Odyssey G7 28, the Odyssey G5 27-inch, and the Odyssey G3—which comes in both 27- and 24-inch sizes. The new monitors are designed specifically for gaming and include high refresh rates that range from 144Hz to 165Hz, depending on the model. Two of the primary features of the G7 and G5 allow users to utilize picture by picture (PBP) and picture in picture. Samsung says this allows for flexible multitasking, while allowing consumers to allocate the video capture where it needs to go. Samsung also claims that the Easy Setting Box included with the monitors will also allow them to move things around more easily. All of the new monitors also will feature Auto Source Switch+, which should allow you to move between inputs without having to toggle any switches. The monitor should automatically pick up on any consoles or gaming PCs that are turned on and switch to it without you needing to do anything else. The G7 will offer up to 3,840 x 2,160 resolution, while the G5 will cap out at 2,560 x 1,440. The G3, however, will be limited to 1,920 x 1,080 on both the 27- and 24-inch variants. Samsung hasn’t revealed exactly how much the new monitors will cost, but the press release says they should be available starting as early as Monday.
