Now that October is behind us, the push towards the holidays is in full effect. Microsoft is celebrating the season by sending out 50,000 gift cards to its customers, and you could get one of them. On Wednesday, some users reported receiving emails from Microsoft claiming that they contained gift cards for the Microsoft Store. Microsoft has since confirmed that the gift cards are indeed real, and the company has sent out 50,000 in total to its U.S.-based customers. A Microsoft spokesperson later told The Verge that it sent out 25,000 emails with $100 gift cards and another 25,000 emails with $10 Microsoft Gift Cards ahead of the holiday season. The recipients were selected randomly, and the cards will be redeemable until December 31, 2021. That gives users who receive one roughly 90 days to redeem it. If you haven’t already, make sure to check whichever email account you have connected to your Xbox Live, Skype, or Microsoft account. It’s also possible the email could have ended up in your spam folder, so be sure to check that, too. If you do get one, you can spend the gift card on anything the Microsoft Store offers—including games like Forza Horizon 5 and physical items like keyboards or a new mouse.
